January 9, 2012 - La Tierra Prometida!

Hey family and friends!
Well this week was a great one! We were able to baptize two of Heavenly Fathers children this week. Hangysan and Miguel!  It was great! Thank you for all of your prayers, I know without a doubt that they helped them to be baptized.
We are definitely seeing miracles here in Cancha Rayada. The Lord is definitely blessing us. I don’t want to leave this place it is the Promised Land! We have seen a lot of progress these last couple of weeks. We are looking forward to a couple more baptisms before the end of this month. We are teaching a couple who aren’t married but love to learn and are reading and praying and they always have questions to ask us. We are going to talk about the Plan of Salvation this week and marriage. We are really looking forward to it!
On Tuesday we did a Family Night with Hangysan and her family, and a sister in our ward. We watched the Joy to The World Christmas movie because we weren’t able to watch it before with them. And we talked about that, and The Atonement of Jesus Christ, and baptism, and talked to the parents and they gave her permission to be baptized! We could really feel the Spirit in that lesson. I know that Heavenly Father was blessing us with the words to say. And the sister that came really helped out. So that was a miracle. After 3 long months it finally happened. Heavenly Father really has a plan for everything, and I’ve come to trust it, as long as I’m dong the things He asks me I know it will always turn out for the better.
This week we had to do another mini combio because Elder Mortenson had to come here to do the interviews, so I went to San Javier. It was great. We had a meeting with the new Mission Leader at his house, and he lives out in the campo or the fields. And he has a huge backyard. And he let us pick a peach, and he gave us a huge slice of watermelon! It was an answer to my prayers! It was way good.
And Sunday we had the baptisms. That went well. There were a couple of things that really didn’t go our way before the baptisms, but it all worked out in the end.
Today for P Day we went out to San Clemente again to play soccer. A lot of guys didn’t show up so we played half field. It was fun.
And before the Zone Leaders showed up with the soccer ball I made a baseball out of some plastic beer bags, that were lying around and we played some baseball! Those Eagle Scout skills sure come in handy! haha So it was fun everyone had a good time.
Then we got a bus back into town and we all ate at a restaurant. It was good.
But everything is going good, it got cloudy all of a sudden, the weather is kind of weird. But Elder Bustamante is doing great he continues to learn and amaze me! He’s a great missionary. I hope we are able to stay one more transfer here- Well find out in 2 weeks about that!
Well have a great week everyone! Thanks for the prayers and the support it really makes a difference!

January 2, 2012 - McDonalds Mondays!

Happy New Year!

Hey family and friends how’s it going!
So all the fun has passed. Christmas and New Year’s! haha But I’m sure it will continue, none of you guys have a problem with keeping it fun!
Well our New Years was cool. We had a dinner with a member at like 8 and we taught a lesson after, then we went to a family’s house to wish them a Happy New Year. Then we went home and watched some fireworks off in the distance. It was fun, but hey there’s not much you can do as a missionary right! haha
But we had a good week. It was a little hard getting people to church with New Years on Sunday and all. But we did our best. We usually have about 60 members in church but on Sunday there were only 28. It was almost impossible to teach lessons on Sunday as everyone was still partying and drinking. So we just talked to a lot of people.
But we are planning on baptizing Hangysan and Miguel this Sunday. So pray that their parents will let them be baptized!
We found a couple new investigators this week.
Ringing in the New Year!
One of them that we found was an answer to her prayer. She said about 30 minutes earlier she was praying for someone to come and help her. She had been drinking a little bit but she seemed honest. So we shared the Restoration.  And right before we yelled ( in Chile everyone has a fence so you have to yell "ah loooow!) at their door, the kid who was helping us said "let’s go get an ice cream!" but we had work to do. And we found them. So I know without a doubt that the Lord is leading this work.
It continues to be hot here. At night it’s like 93 when we leave a house after teaching and we go outside, it is still hot. But it’s nice. I like the heat more than the cold!
Elder Bustamante is doing great he is a spiritual stud. He continues to teach me. He’s getting better at English. He is starting to read in the Spanish and English Book of Mormon.
Today for P Day we played soccer with some Elders from the zone for about 2 hours. We started earlier because it gets hot early it was fun. Then after of course we celebrated it with a Big Mac!
But we are doing good the work here is moving on. We are praying for 2 miracles this next Sunday.
I hope you guys all had a good Christmas Break and that New Years was fun!
I hope everyone has a great 2012 and that you can achieve your goals that you have set for this year!

December 26, 2011 - Family!

Hey it was great being able to talk to all of you guys yesterday! Everyone is looking good!
Just thought I should write something real quick.
We had a great week here Elder Bustamante and I. We are really seeing alot of progress here and miracles. The Lord is really blessing us with people to teach. I am very greatful for that. We have a lot of work to do now, and we are very excited! We are hoping to see a few baptisms here pretty soon. We have aot of people that are real excited to here the gospel and it is a blessing to see their faces light up when they feel the power of The Book of Mormon,. I have no doubt that that book is true. It has the power to change lives. I know it was written to help us today understand our purpose here in life and help us nknwo what we need to do to be able to live with our loving Heavenly father and our family after this life.
I wish everyone a Happy New Year! And a great week!
love you guys! And thanks for your prayers,
