Buenos Dias! First day in the MTC was great, it's cold. First off, I forgot some stuff, so I'll start with that. I forgot hangers, toothbrush container, flipflops(one's you can shower in). We had to teach these 5 different investigators, it was cool but I didn't say anything, there was like 50 missionaries in the room. The president talked to us, we had dinner, it was chicken cordon bleu. My companion is Elder Alley, he's from Pocatello, Idaho. He's really nice, really quiet, humble, he's a good guy. Elder Cooper in my room plays water polo at Tesoro HS in Rancho Santa Margarita, Elder Alley is my senior companion and Elder Scott in my room is from Ogden, Utah. He skis a lot he's a great guy doesn't know any Spanish but he already knows how to say hi and how are you in Spanish. We learned how to say a prayer today on Thursday th 3rd in Spanish. Querdio Padre Celestial (Heavenly Father) adredezco mi companero y gracias por mi familia, gracias para CCM (MTC) amen. It's going great though I've learned a lot already. Learned some scriptures. I get lost around the campus though its big and all the buildings look alike. We had the Branch Presidency come in and speak to our district today about some stuff. Pres Nelson, Counselor Sanchez from Panama, Counselor Cossgrove and their wives except Sanchez she's a nurse and she's working. We have 8 Elders in our District. Elder Alley and I, Elder Cooper, and Elder Scott in our room. Then Elder Tanner (District President), Elder Pilj and then Elder Beecroft and Elder Carle from Riverside. The food is pretty good they have chocolate milk, fruits, we had hamburgesa para almuerzo y spicy chicken wings for dinner. I played bball for gym. We only have 50 minutes. You have to make a free throw to play it's 3 on 3 to 11. I played the first game. The guy I guarded was really quick we lost. Then I didn't make the next free throw so I lifted some weights and went back down and played some more. It was fun. It's like 12 degrees here it hurts to breathe. I met some missionaries going to Long Beach today and told them how it would be. We learned how to plan our day, and what our schedule would be like. You are always doing something. It's hard to catch up on sleep I keep dozing off. Today we did this computer program called Technology Assisted Language Learner or something. It teaches you Spanish. It was cool. President Nelson went to New Zealand for his Mission. I told him you went there. At night we have some free time so I play pig with the nerf ball with a bunch of Elders it was cool. I'm in building 3M Room 121 it has two sets of bunk beds, closet, two desks. We have like four districts in our zone, we are zone 4. Elder Foster (Idaho) and Elder Reid (Ireland) doesn't have an accent though are our Zone Leaders. We hug in our Zone a lot it's pretty cool. And they all say bueno and pero, (good, but) in Spanish a lot and speak other Spanish too. It's pretty cool. I learned how to throw a quarter on the ground and make it bounce back up to you. Laundry is free, but you gotta buy detergent and bleach, they showed us where it's at. You have a blue card and slide it for lunch and laundry. It doesn't use money for it. But other food and drinks cost money.
This Mission is great I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The espirita Santo esta muy fuerza aquin. I love my companion he's great and knows a lot and is very nice and helpful. I'm thankful for Jesus Christ and for his ultimate sacrifice without we would not be on this earth today. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and restored the only true Church back onto this earth in these latter days. I know that charity and love are the most important gift, and you can move nations with it. The Gospel is great and I know it is true! I love you guys and hope all is well. You are in my prayers constantly. Keep up the good work, and try hard in school Tyler & Kayla. It is actually a good thing and you are blessed to have it. Make sure you help clean up the house too! I love you guys very much and don't worry I'm in good hands (Lord's hands).
P.S. I learned how to say a prayer in espanol P.S.S Tell everyone I say Hi and I love them!
Love,
Elder Johnson
